Guided tours of Kranj

Kranj is a pleasant historical town on a rock promontory above the confluence of the rivers Sava and Kokra. Houses in the old town centre are arranged around a rectangular square with a fountain, town hall and a parish church. Kranj’s old town core and its beautiful arcaded courtyards, Plečnik’s masterpieces, defence walls and towers, galleries, museums and cultural events attract visitors from far and wide. Numerous archaeological excavations bear witness to the town’s ancient history. Namely, Kranj is one of Slovenia’s most important old excavation sites. Kranj and its surroundings are rich in natural sights, with numerous sports halls and sports fields that present a real scene of possibilities for sports activities. Kranj’s wide variety of commercial offers has made it the commercial centre of the Gorenjska region. The tradition of old restaurants in Kranj’s town core brings a magical throb to its social life.

Sightseeing tours of Kranj are organised by the Tourist Board Kranj and the Tourist Association Kranj. Regular sightseeing tours of Kranj are mainly intended for individuals and smaller groups. On request guided tours to the surroundings of Kranj, with an animator, can be organised.

A guided tour through Kranj is an opportunity to get to know the different faces of Kranj and its surroundings.

PRICE LIST FOR GUIDED TOURS OF KRANJ

• Groups from 10 to 20 people 2 hours 4,50 €
• Groups from 20 to 50 people 2 hours 4,00 €
• Groups over 50 people 2 hours 3,50 €
• Groups up to 10 people 2 hours 45,00 €
• Each additional hour of sightseeing costs an extra 30 €/group. Entry fees are not included in the price.

On the first Saturday of every month Tourist Board Kranj organizes a guided tour of the town, called Following Prešeren's Path. The meeting place is at Prešeren's monument in Prešeren's Grove at 10 a.m. The tour costs  4,5 EUR per person. Admission fees are not included in the price, so they have to be paid extra.
